The Web PIM recap - June 26, 2000
howdy all,
well, last night's summertime PIM was another rockin' good time, with
upwards of 300 people in attendance. mucho schmoozing, lots of cards being
traded, rumors generated and spirits elevated. can you tell I love
alliteration? I also love a good time, and the PIM is always that. thanks
go to the savvy Suzanne Anderson of Internet music gurus
<http://www.artistone.com>
for helping me put on this event yet again and
to SF WoWser Lara Thurman of
<http://www.creatiaveassets.com>
and her crew
for helping to meet and greet all who arrived (along with the lovely Lou
Fischer and Deborah Dorfman).
biggest kudos, though, go to our sponsors 2bridge
<http://www.2bridge.com>,
eHub builders, and the Yankee Group
<http://www.yankeegroup.com>,
research
analysts to the Web. both companies had reps in the house talkin' the talk
and helping the evening flow. and hey, when your eCompany (now, or later)
needs a good eHub or some timely research info, call the bridge or the
Yankees, alright? they know their stuff.
so who else was at the PIM last night? yes, I do know that's why you read
this post...Jill Jacobson, Marcom Manager at
<http://www.digiscents.com>
was talking up this scent-sational Oakland startup and the upcoming
TechOakland bash, slated for mid-late July...Ed Anuff, CEO of
<http://www.epicentric.com>
came early, stayed late and talked about the
latest with his portal company...Jeremy Sutton wants you to
<http://www.movetothegroove.com>
and he can help you plan a party to do
just that...Elizabeth Polk, Marketing Manager at
<http://www.workingassets.com>
represents a company that does wear a "white
hat"...Alexander Romero, Chief Tangopreneur at
<http://www.eTango.com>
talked ASPs to anyone who asked...Emily Hood is a recruiter at
Alameda-based
<http://www.tradiant.com>
which is in the global transport
biz...Debbie Aron is a content consultant with
<http://www.uclick.com> and
is eager to forge content partnerships with any and all...Rolf von Behrens
is VP Strategic Development of
<http://www.ratestream.com>
which offers a
nifty currency translator for those doing overseas biz (uh, Rolf, maybe you
should get in touch with Emily three lines up)...Jeff Adams is the Director
of Technological Delight at
<http://www.reflect.com>
and while that's a
catchy little title, I still prefer tangopreneur...Robert Kassis of
<http://www.hallkinion.com>
told me his hiring shop has tech jobs to
burn...SF WoW steering crew member Amy Lightholder is the newest
Information Architect at
<http://www.simmedia.com>,
which provides "brand
momentum for the eRevolution"...Scott Munson of
<http://www.planttrees.org>
wants us all to plant native trees and even showed up with a few of them on
his head (I kid you not)...and on and on and on.
bottom line: if you didn't make it to the PIM, you missed a huge
opportunity to see and hear about the latest and greatest in the Internet
community. and with things changing at warp speed, can you really afford to
sit on the sidelines? NOT. next PIM will be mid-late September. be there.
